CHARLES R. HADLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO RECEIVE
COVETED GOVERNOR’S STERLING AWARD

MIAMI – Charles R. Hadley Elementary School made history as the first Title I school to receive the prestigious Governor’s Sterling Award for high-performing organizations. The school will be honored June 3 at the 13th Annual Sterling Conference in Orlando.

The award-winning school received an “A” rating four times since the 1998-1999 school year, and for the last three years in a row, Hadley has one of the highest stakeholder satisfaction ratings based on the school climate survey. It was recognized by the Florida Council for Educational Change as one of the top 20 high performing schools for the past three consecutive years.

"Charles R. Hadley Elementary School is a shining example of the Sterling principles in action," said Frank J. Bolaños, Miami-Dade School Board Chair. "The staff at the school is extraordinarily committed to using those principles to help plan for the future."

The award recognizes organizations and businesses in Florida that have achieved performance excellence within their management and operations. Each winner underwent a series of in-depth assessments and evaluations by Sterling examiners that analyzed productivity and organizational performance.

Established in 1992, the Florida Sterling Council is a public/private not-for-profit corporation supported by the Executive Office of the Governor. For additional information, contact Dr. Kriner Cash, Chief, Accountability and Systemwide Performance, at 305-995-1814.
