IT’S TIME TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD MIAMI— With the release of Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) results, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has targeted specific schools that will offer summer school June 22-July 20. FCAT scores will also be used to determine which students are eligible for, and most in need of, summer school. An extensive list of locations is available at http://summerschool.dadeschools.net. Registration is currently underway for a diverse array of summer school options being offered through the Passport to Summer Explorations program. M-DPCS is placing special focus on children who need extra help. Summer school is mandatory for all retained third-graders and designated Title I students in grades four, five, seven and eight at select elementary and middle school summer academies. Limited space is available to high school students who didn’t pass the FCAT and eighth-graders who failed a class. Limited seats are also available for students entering sixth and ninth grades as part of a transition program. For additional information regarding eligibility and enrollment, contact your local school. # # # 05-LJG/186/TEL |
