THREE TIPS FOR COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER
MIAMI - Miami-Dade County Public Schools offers parents many ways to be active in their child’s education and to have a good and open relationship with their child’s teacher. These are three suggestions to help open the lines of communication:
- Parents should get to know their child’s teachers early in the school year, and communicate regularly with the teachers about their child’s progress.
- Parents should consider joining the school’s PTA, which usually meets once a month and costs only $3 to join.
- Parents may also want to volunteer in their child’s classroom. This sends a message to children and to their teacher that a child’s education has importance.
For more information about playing an important role in your child’s education, please contact the Office of Parental Involvement at 305-995-2680 or the District PTA Office at 305-995-1102.
Opening day for schools is August 14; School Improvement Zone schools opened August 7.
