WHY: |
As part of the District’sIndoor Air Quality Master Management Plan, Florida Detroit Diesel Allison (FDDA) Garage is retrofitting eight Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ buses to clean up exhaust emissions. Another 145 buses will be retrofitted over the next year under a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Clean School bus grant award of $171,000. This project also meets the Federal Clean Air Act and various Miami-Dade County Ambient Clean Air goals. This project adheres to the District-wide mission to create, foster, maintain and promote a clean, healthy and productive learning environment for all school children in Miami-Dade County.
