MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO BE CLOSED
TUESDAY, AUGUST 29 & WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30

MIAMI – In preparation of Tropical Storm Ernesto, Miami-Dade County Public Schools is taking the following actions:

  • All Miami-Dade County Public Schools classes, including night and adult programs, will be canceled on Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30.
  • Athletic events and extracurricular activities have been canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Open house events scheduled for this week will be rescheduled.
  • Miami-Dade County Public Schools employees should not report to work on Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30, unless directed otherwise by a supervisor.
  • Updates will be provided on WLRN Channel 17 and 91.3 FM, as well as the District’s website, www.dadeschools.net.
  • Parents who are looking for educational resources during the storm can visit www.dadeschools.net and click on EYE – Emergency Youth Education.  The site contains links to curriculum for different age levels by subject area.  It’s a great way that students can keep learning during the storm.
