M-DCPS CELEBRATES EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION WEEK

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will celebrate Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Week from October 1 to 7, 2006.  M-DCPS provides services to meet the diverse needs of more than 43,000 students with disabilities and their parents. ESE programs focus on preparing students to become successful in school, work, and life.

This year’s theme for M-DCPS is “Bridging Differences Expands Horizons.”  Schools will host a number of events and activities which include the following: recognizing teachers, parents, and support staff for the assistance they give to students with disabilities; hosting presentations and trainings on a variety of topics, and highlighting the abilities of students enrolled in special education.

For more information on specific activities that will be taking place, please contact your neighborhood schools, Regional Center Offices, or Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System-South at 305-274-3501.
