SCHOOL BOARD RECEIVES PROPOSED
REVISED 2005-2008 STRATEGIC PLAN
MIAMI – The proposed Revised 2005-2008 Strategic Plan for Miami-Dade County Public Schools was received by the Board on Wednesday and will be reviewed at a Board workshop in the upcoming months. The plan, with its proposed revisions, communicates the District’s vision, mission and core values as well as five strategic goals and system-wide initiatives to achieve those goals.
The District’s goals, outlined in the Revised 2005-2008 Strategic Plan, are as follows:
- Ensure achievement of high academic standards by all students;
- Develop students so that they are able to successfully compete in the global economy;
- Actively engage family and community members to become our partners in raising and maintaining high student achievement;
- Reform business practices to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and high ethical standards; and
- Recruit, develop and retain high-performing, diverse, and motivated faculty and staff.
The plan is updated annually to incorporate a primary focus for the upcoming school year based on stakeholder feedback, an evaluation of progress against desired outcomes and District, State, and Federal requirements.
