SCHOOLS' FACILITIES OFFICER WINS CONSTRUCTION AWARD

MIAMI – Rose Diamond, Chief Facilities Officer for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, has been awarded the 2006 Outstanding Woman in Construction award by the Miami Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

At a ceremony earlier this month, Diamond was honored for her contributions to the construction industry. As Chief Facilities Officer, she oversees the District’s $5 billion Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan. Under her direction, nearly 40,000 new student stations have been added to the District over the last two years.

NAWIC works to promote continuing and higher education and encourages women to pursue, establish and broaden careers in the construction industry.
