BREAKFAST HELPS STUDENTS GET A JUMP ON FCAT MIAMI – As students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools approach the FCAT, it is important that they be not only mentally ready, but also physically ready to take on this significant exam. The best way to do that is with a healthy and nutritious breakfast, which is offered free at all public schools. Breakfast, long considered the most important meal of the day, is vital to students’ success. A nutritious breakfast gives them the energy they need to focus on their studies and perform at their peak capacity. M-DCPS has been offering free breakfast since 2004. The menu includes a wide variety of choices, including cereal, French toast, grits, milk and fruit, among others. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote the benefits of a complete breakfast, M-DCPS is participating in National Breakfast Week, with schools throughout the District emphasizing its importance as students get ready to take on the FCAT. ### 06-LJG/185/TEL |
