SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER MORE AUTONOMY FOR PRINCIPALS

The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida
WHAT:

The Board will consider a number of items to benefit students and improve efficiency.  Among them:

 An initiative that will give principals at top-performing schools more autonomy over budget and other matters

• Final approval of a plan to eliminate valedictorian and salutatorian designations in favor of a system that mirrors broader academic success

 An education compact with the City of Coral Gables designed to benefit students and schools in that city
