NINTH-GRADERS, PARENTS TO GET ORIENTATION MIAMI –Miami Central, Miami Edison and Miami Jackson senior high schools invite students entering ninth grade and their parents to attend an orientation at their respective high schools from 3 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 6. Parent attendance is strongly encouraged to exhibit the importance of their child’s education and their willingness to participate in their child’s success. The school locations and their telephone numbers are: Miami Central Senior High Miami Edison Senior High Miami Jackson Senior High The agenda for the meeting is themed “Preparing Students for High School and Beyond.” Students will learn about “Tools for Success,” a program that helps them understand the expectations of senior high school, as well as educational opportunities available to them. Parents will learn how to get involved and stay involved in their child’s high school. The orientation is an opportunity for students and parents/guardians to meet school administrators, counselors and other key personnel. Refreshments will be served, freshman packs will be distributed and door prizes provided by community partners will be awarded.
