MACARTHUR SOUTH WINS PRESTIGIOUS
$100,000 AARP AWARD  


MIAMI – During its 50th Anniversary celebration, AARP presented students from the Young Men’s Academy for Academic and Civic Development at MacArthur South Senior High School with the $100,000 Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus Legacy Award.  On hand to accept the award were students, Superintendent of Schools Rudy Crew, and Principal David Moore.  The award is named after the founder of the AARP.
 
AARP sponsored a national competition for high schools that offer intergenerational programs, and the Young Men’s Academy at MacArthur South was one of seven winners nationally.
