PARENTS CAN MAXIMIZE THEIR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES AT CONFERENCE, MARCH 15

MIAMI – Parents of Miami-Dade public school students will have the opportunity to learn from local, national and international consultants on how to maximize their children’s educational opportunities at a conference on Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dadeland Marriott Hotel, 9090 South Dadeland Blvd., Miami.

The conference, A Path to Rigor…Your Child and Advanced Academics, is sponsored by the Division of Advanced Academic Programs and will have various sessions available for students and parents. 

Conference sessions will include:

  1. Parenting gifted and identifying gifted characteristics
  2. Reading, Vocabulary, and Mathematics for gifted
  3. Brain Research
  4. Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, International Baccalaureate, and Cambridge Programs
  5. Gifted Legislation
  6. Student Showcase
  7. Conference Overview in Spanish and Haitian-Creole

Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. Free transportation to the conference will be available from selected high schools around the county.
