FAMILY INVOLVEMENT FESTIVAL AT JUNGLE ISLAND, APRIL 27

1,300 Very Involved Parents (VIPs), their children, staff from various schools and administrators

The Family Involvement Festival |

Sunday, April 27, at 1-5 p.m.
Award ceremony will be at 2 p.m. in the Parrot Bowl |
WHERE: |
Jungle Island
1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, (Watson Island), Miami

WHY: |
To celebrate the involvement of families in their children’s education. The VIPs have to follow five criteria to participate in this initiative:
- have a child in Miami-Dade County Public Schools,
- be involved in their child’s learning at home,
- ensure their child has no more than five absences in a semester,
- communicate with their child’s teacher
- attends at least two school activities during the school year.
The festival will honor 141 Families of the Year selected by their children’s schools for the exceptional service they have provided.
Event sponsors include Ibiley School Uniforms, the Wachovia Foundation, and the Dade County Council PTA/PTSA.
