TARGET STORES MAKEOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARIES

WHO: Over 100 Target volunteers and 15 school community volunteers
WHAT:

Target stores, in collaboration with national partner, HandsOn Network, will makeover 15 elementary school libraries across the country.  In Miami-Dade County, Hubert O. Sibley
Elementary was chosen for the honor.

The Target team will be revitalizing the school by redesigning the library with a fresh paint, new shelving, colorful reading chairs, and new books as well as working with the students to create bookmarks and labels for donated books.

WHY:

Since 1946, Target has given five percent of its income to support education, the arts, social services and volunteerism. This year, Target in collaboration with national partner, HandsOn Network, will makeover 15 elementary school libraries across the country.

HandsOn Miami worked with Target locally to select Sibley Elementary for the makeover. Target also is donating funds for library books to seven other Miami-Dade elementary schools: Pinecrest, Coral Terrace, Greynolds, Naranja, Miami Gardens, Citrus Grove and Ojus.
