RAP SESSION BETWEEN MIAMI HEAT’S UDONIS HASLEM, STUDENTS
AT YOUNG MEN’S ACADEMY AT MACARTHUR SOUTH

WHO: 

Miami Heat Forward Udonis Haslem and students from the Young Men’s Academy for Academic and Civic Development at MacArthur South Senior High School

WHAT:
A heart-to-heart talk between Miami Heat star Udonis Haslem, who is a  graduate of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and young men, grades 6-12, from the Young Men's Academy for Academic and Civic Development,who have had difficulties with their studies and their behavior in the past and are now turning their lives around
WHEN:
Tuesday, March 4, at 2 p.m.
WHERE:

Douglas MacArthur High South
11035 S.W. 84th Street, Miami

WHY:

To encourage, motivate, and congratulate the students on staying in school and improving their lives academically, socially, and emotionally.  Most of the students at the Young Men’s Academy for Academic and Civic Development at MacArthur South Senior High School live in foster care or government subsidized single parent households.  Outstanding male role models like Udonis Haslem play an important part in helping these young men stay in school, believe in themselves and improve their chances of leading a successful life.  The school’s mission is to address the critical needs of this challenging student population.
