GIVE OUR STUDENTS THE WORLD Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ new direct support organization, The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc., is hosting a golf tournament on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, 4400 N.W. 87 Avenue, Miami, FL 33178. The Foundation was created by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, to enhance student achievement and to boost community engagement by raising funds for The Parent Academy and student support programs such as Success Academy, Cultural Passport, mentoring, tutoring and other M-DCPS education initiatives. “With community collaboration and financial support, the Foundation can open new worlds of opportunity, innovation, motivation, and academic success for our students and their teachers,” said M-DCPS Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho, who chairs the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Public education is a public/private enterprise.
