BASKETBALL STAR ALONZO MOURNING, SUPERINTENDENT ALBERTO CARVALHO CONGRATULATE STUDENTS Retired Miami Heat center and future Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning teamed up recently with Superintendent of Schools Alberto Carvalho to congratulate a group of students for their commitment and discipline. Carvalho and Mourning recorded an automated telephone message that will be delivered to nearly 131,000 Miami-Dade public schools students who achieved perfect attendance for the second grading period. The message encourages the students to continue to attend school every day and to stay on the path to excellence.
