MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS OFFERS
STREET LAW PROGRAM

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) students are getting a bird’s eye view of corporate law through the Street Law program (Diversity Pipeline Program). Street Law, a Burger King® Corporation initiative, has teamed up with Miami Edison Senior High School to offer workshops and classroom experiences with legal professionals for the last two weeks.

The Street Law program partners corporate legal departments with local high school law classes in an effort to engage students in the legal process, teach civil law, and encourage careers in the legal profession. In addition, students learn legal rights and responsibilities.

Street Law is a non-profit organization that provides practical, hands-on experience regarding the law, democracy, and human rights.  The innovative program promotes critical thinking, cooperative learning and democracy among its participants. The Street Law program and curriculum have been encouraging young adults to respect and understand the legal system for 35 years.

The Street Law program will culminate with a conference at Burger King® headquarters on Wednesday, May 13th. Burger King® headquarters is located at 5505 Blue Lagoon Drive.
