M-DCPS EDUCATOR APPOINTED TO
GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS

MIAMI – Dr. Jayne Greenberg, Executive Director of Physical Education and Health Literacy for Miami-Dade County Public Schools was recently appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to serve on the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. 

Established in 2007, the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness promotes health and wellness in the state via a plan of action to increase Floridians' level of physical fitness through regular exercise and sound nutrition practices.  The plan also seeks to reduce the rate of obesity resulting in chronic illnesses. Council members include education representatives, health care practitioners, advocates for persons with special needs, and state and local government representatives.

As Executive Director of Physical Education and Health Literacy for M-DCPS, Greenberg’s responsibilities include supervising physical, health, and safety education, including programs for students with disabilities.
