17 M-DCPS Students Named National Scholastic Art & Writing Award-Winners

Students from across the District have been recognized as national and regional Scholastic Art & Writing award-winners by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recognize student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing. This year, more than 140,000 submissions of art and writing were reviewed by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers and its 81 regional affiliates. One thousand students won national awards.

The winners will be recognized at a National Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 3rd. Miami-Dade County Public Schools will also be recognized with a “Special Award for Excellence in the Field” for achievements in art and writing in the region.
