ROBERT MORGAN ED. CENTER STUDENT WINS
2009 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

MIAMI – Maricela Nodar, an 11th grade student at Robert Morgan Educational Center, is the winner of the 2009 Congressional Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery,” for Florida’s District 25. U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart presented Maricela with a certificate and a U.S. flag that previously was flown at the Capitol building. Her winning artwork will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol for a year.

The national competition began in 1982 and is sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives.  Members of Congress have the opportunity to recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents.  Since its inception, over 650,000 high school students have participated in the program.
