M-DCPS TO HOST THE 2010 SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL
SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

WHAT:

2010 South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair

WHEN:

Saturday, January 23, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Miami Dade College-North Campus, Science Complex

WHY:

The 2010 South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair showcases the explorations of middle and senior high school students throughout the county. Approximately 500 students are expected to participate in the science fair under the theme “Mentoring Global Innovation.” The Opening Ceremony will include a keynote address by Miami Metrozoo Communications Director Ron Magill. CBS4 meteorologist Jeff Berardelli will act as the master of ceremony for the event.

Projects can open the doors to college scholarships and advanced academics. Students receive certificates, medals, trophies and cash prizes as rewards.

Science fair categories include behavioral & social sciences, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, microbiology, zoology, earth & planetary science, environmental science, physics, astronomy, medicine and health.
