MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACHERS EXPECTED
IN SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, APRIL 13
MIAMI - After a day-long absence by a number of Miami-Dade County Public Schools teachers, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho reminded all teachers of their responsibilities and spoke of expectations for the days ahead.
"We are counting on our teachers to return to the duties they assumed the day they signed on to be teachers," said Superintendent Carvalho. "We look forward to seeing them present in class tomorrow, with teachers teaching and students learning, and we continue to encourage them to use constructive methods to make their points heard outside of class hours."
Approximately seventy percent of Miami-Dade's teachers reported to work on Monday, April 12, 2010. While some schools reported 100 percent attendance, other schools reported high absence rates. School principals were able to operate on a close-to-normal basis using substitutes and district and region staff.
