17 M-DCPS SECONDARY STUDENTS WIN AWARDS AT
55TH ANNUAL STATE SCIENCE, ENGINEERING FAIR
Seventeen Miami-Dade County public school students won awards for their science projects at the 2010 State Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) of Florida, held in Orlando last month during a three-day display of science project exhibits prepared by aspiring scientists and engineers in grades 6-12. Approximately 900 students displayed their projects illustrating research in scientific thought, thoroughness, skill, clarity, and creative ability/originality.
Judging took place in two sections: senior (grades 9-12) and junior (grades 6-8) and were comprised of 14 categories, including Behavioral and Social Science, Medicine and Health, Zoology, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy.
The winners, their schools and the place they won are as follows:
