The National Museum of the American Latino Commission will meet with staff and students of Coral Reef Senior High School to discuss the formation of a National American Latino Museum.

At its July 11, 2007 meeting, the School Board passed an agenda item in support of the National Museum of the American Latino initiative that was proffered by School Board Member Ana Rivas Logan, District 7.

The National Museum of the American Latino Commission was established by a Congressional Act to study the potential creation of a National Museum of the American Latino in Washington, D.C. The 23-member Commission began its work in September 2009 and is in the process of gathering and analyzing information for a comprehensive feasibility report that will be submitted to the President and Congress this fall.
