MOODY’S INVESTOR SERVICE AFFIRMS A1 RATING FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND REVISES OUTLOOK TO ‘STABLE’ MIAMI - Moody’s Investor Service has affirmed an underlying rating of “A1” for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and has removed a negative outlook for the District. As a result of significant fiscal improvements achieved under the current administration, the outlook is now “Stable.” “This is very positive news that comes to us in the midst of the worst economic situation that most of us have experienced in our lifetimes,” said Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho. “This reflects the stability of our school district and gives our community a sense of confidence about our mission.” Moody’s placed M-DCPS on negative outlook in October 2008 because of depleted cash and reserves. # # # 010-179/JJS/GC |
