NEVA KING COOPER ED. CENTER, RYDER PARTNERSHIP RECOGNIZED BY
FLORIDA EDUCATION FOUNDATION, FLDOE

Each year, the Florida Education Foundation and Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) recognize businesses throughout the state that have shown an outstanding commitment to improving education by partnering with schools in their communities.  This evening, Keyla Martinez of Ryder System, Inc., in partnership with Neva King Cooper Educational Center, will be honored at the 23rd Annual Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards in Tampa. Education Commissioner Eric J. Smith, Foundation board members, Board of Education members, District Superintendents and School Board Chairs will preside at the ceremony.

For 12 years, Ryder employees have provided the students at Neva King Cooper with toys and much needed items including blankets, dental hygiene products, pool towels, swimming suits, as well as Thanksgiving dinners.  Ryder employees also coordinate a Christmas party for the students that showcases Santa arriving at the school on a fire truck bringing special gifts individualized to each of them.

This Fortune 500 company has helped make the holidays more comfortable and enjoyable for all of the school’s students, their families and the staff.

For more information, contact Dr. Alberto T. Fernandez, Principal of Neva King Cooper, or Assistant Principal Henny Cristobol, at 305-247-4307.
