M-DCPS HAS BEEN APPROVED AS AN SES TUTORING PROVIDER FOR 2010-2011 As a result of the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), children can receive extra academic help in the areas of reading, language arts, mathematics and science. This free tutoring is available if a child’s school has been identified as “in need of improvement.” Students attending eligible Title I schools, and who receive free or reduced-price meals, are eligible to participate in the SES Tutorial Program. SES is provided outside of the regular school day (before and after school or on weekends). The SES tutorial program is offered by providers approved by the State of Florida, at no cost to the parent. For the 2010-2011 school year, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been approved as one of the state-approved Supplemental Educational Services (SES) providers for our District (M-DCPS SES Provider Program, Provider Code 0349). As a state-approved SES provider, the M-DCPS SES Provider Program (Provider Code 0349) will provide free, customized tutoring to eligible students with these great benefits:
