SOUTH MIAMI HIGH’S SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO HOLD
2ND ANNUAL HOMECOMING DANCE, NOV. 19

WHO:

South Miami Senior High School students, Best Buddies and Special Education (SPED) Department

WHAT:

South Miami Senior High’s 2nd Annual Homecoming Dance for the Special Education (SPED) Department

WHEN:

Friday, November 19, 2010
9:30 a.m. – Noon

WHERE:

Royal Ballroom Banquet Hall
1405 S.W. 107th Avenue, Suite 212C
Miami, FL 33174

WHY:

Students with intellectual disabilities are often isolated from many other high school clubs and social activities. The Best Buddies organization is the only club within the school that allows students with and without intellectual disabilities to form one-to-one friendships, inclusion, awareness, compassion and understanding.

Best Buddies will host the semi-formal dance and will also have a photographer and a DJ. They also are expecting special guests: Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Verne Troyer better known as "Mini Me" from the Austin Powers movies.
