THIRTY-TWO MIAMI-DADE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AWARDED
4-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS FROM POSSE FOUNDATION

Thirty-two Miami-Dade high public school seniors were chosen from among 900 nominees to receive nearly $4.5 million in four-year, full-tuition scholarships and leadership awards from the Posse Foundation to attend Hamilton College, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Pennsylvania, next fall. The awards ceremony to honor the students was held at the J.W. Marriott Hotel on Brickell Avenue.

Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho, a strong supporter of the Posse foundation and the 2010 Community Star honoree, delivered the keynote address to the scholarship recipients and guests.  With his support, the District’s and Florida Department of Education’s, the Posse program has secured 100 percent participation from Miami-Dade public high schools, in the last two years.
