COMMUNITY SCHOOL TEACHER, PROUD GRADUATE FROM HIALEAH SENIOR HIGH CHOSEN AS MISS CARNAVAL MIAMI 2011

A community education teacher at North Twin Lakes Elementary and graduate from Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Hialeah Senior High School, Damaris Aguiar was recently selected by the Kiwanis Club as Miss Carnaval Miami 2011.  Ms. Aguiar, a 24-year-old student at Florida International University, will graduate in April with a double major in marketing and management.  

She has previously served as Miss Miami USA 2010 and had the opportunity to compete this last July at the Miss Florida USA pageant where she finished 15th out of 64 contestants. Damaris is also involved in the community through volunteering at several non-profit organizations such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Best Buddies, and Strong Woman, Strong Girls.
