M-DCPS TO HOLD VPK REGISTRATION LOTTERY, APRIL 1 Any child living in Florida who turns 4 years of age by September 1, 2011is eligible for the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program. If a school has more applicants than there are slots, the school will use a lottery system to make their selections. This year’s lottery will be held April 1. Parents are encouraged to add their child’s name at their home school so that they can be part of the lottery if there needs to be one for that particular site. Parents also need to be aware that they must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) prior to April 22, 2011 if their child is selected.
