WHY: |
The Reclamation Project is a participatory eco-art project launched by Miami artist Xavier Cortada in 2006 and is presented in South Florida by the Miami Science Museum. Earth Day 2011 marks year two of the collaboration between the artist, the School Board, the Miami Science Museum and the Deering Estate at Cutler. This year, as a culmination to Earth Month activities, the Reclamation Project provided trees and flags to each Miami-Dade County public school so that a native tree is planted in each campus. |
