SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO SHARES VISION FOR SCHOOL YEAR AHEAD; MIAMI – Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho met with school and community leaders yesterday at Miami Edison Middle School, to share his vision for the upcoming school year. “No entity, no institution, no force brings all of Miami together more consistently, with more meaning, or with greater consequence than our school system,” said Superintendent Carvalho. “We are the common ground where people of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, abilities and dreams meet on their way to a better tomorrow. And it starts today.” The Opening of Schools Address featured student musical selections, an employee jazz ensemble, greetings from School Board Chair Perla Tabares Hantman, and remarks from Miami-Dade County Council of PTAs/PTSAs President Carolyn Nelson-Goedert and 2012 Francisco R.
