SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS ALBERTO M. CARVALHO TO SEND OFF SCHOOL BUSES MONDAY MORNING
Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho will send off some of the school district’s 1,400 buses on the first day of school, Monday, August 22, at the John H. Schee Transportation Center, 2755 NW 122 Street, at 5:20 a.m.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools will transport more than 64,036 students a day this school year, on an estimated 1,200 school-bus routes. The service is for students who live more than two miles from their assigned schools, and for special needs students.
Before school begins, parents of all students eligible for bus transportation will receive a card from the school system's computer center identifying the student's bus stop and times of pickup and delivery.
Parents interested in determining their child's transportation eligibility should contact their child's school for information.
