INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PREPARATORY ACADEMY International Studies Preparatory Academy at Gables (ISPA), a full-time magnet language high school, will be holding three informational meetings for ninth-grade students and parents interested in applying and attending ISPA for the 2012-2013 school year. ISPA is located at 1570 Madruga Avenue, Coral Gables, Florida 33146. The International Studies program is the result of memoranda of understanding with the governments of France, Italy and Spain and is the only program of its kind in the United States. Students pursue world language studies in addition to an academic curriculum with an international focus that addresses rigorous standards of both United States and European Union educational systems. In addition to the study of core subject areas in English, students receive up to three hours of instruction in French, Italian or Spanish. They pursue studies in literature, history and geography taught in the foreign language, and are encouraged to work at the highest levels in Honors and Advanced Placement courses. This program offers students the opportunity to receive dual recognition of their studies, a U.S. high school diploma and the equivalent diploma from the European country.
