‘PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY’ HELD ON NOVEMBER 16

Students from Primary Learning Center located at the School Board building in downtown Miami are welcomed by their “Principal for a Day” (right) Maria Alonso, Bank of America Senior Vice President and to her left Dr. Marisel Elias-Miranda. Principal for a Day is made possible with the support of Bank of America and in partnership with THE COALITION of Miami-Dade County Chambers of Commerce.

“Principal for a Day” Richard Martinez, from The Law Offices of Richard Martinez, sits at the principal’s desk, with Assistant Principal Jacqueline Lewis at Orchard Villa Elementary in Liberty City.  More than 375 of Miami-Dade County's business and civic leaders took a break from their daily responsibilities to learn what it takes to run the county's public schools as part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Principal for a Day program.

The program’s goal is to turn the leaders’ one-day experience into a long-term and active partnership with schools, enhancing overall student achievement and resulting in a stronger, more educated workforce.
