MIAMI - U.S. News & World Report announced its annual list of 100 Gold Medal High Schools and four Miami-Dade County public schools, Coral Reef Senior High, Design & Architecture Senior High School (DASH), Maritime & Science Technology Academy (MAST) and New World School of the Arts (NWSA) made the grade as America's 2011 Best High Schools. The magazine also honored five other Miami-Dade high schools. The winners include silver, bronze and honorable mention: The magazine also ranked the high schools in several other categories. In Top Magnet School, four Dade schools made the list of 100: DASH was 15th, MAST – 66th, NWSA – 82nd, and Coral Reef – 95th. Nearly 600 schools were evaluated in subject matter. Two hundred eight were chosen as Best High Schools for Math and Science. Among those winners were three Miami-Dade schools: MAST, School for Advanced Studies North, and School for Advanced Studies - South. Listed among the 301 Most Connected Classrooms in terms of wireless Internet and digital workspaces: Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School ranked 155.
