JOIN US SATURDAY, NOV. 19 FOR TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN'S Take Stock in Children (TSIC) is partnering with The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc. to raise funds to purchase college scholarships for deserving, at-risk students by holding a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. and the race begins at 7:30 a.m. The Kendall Campus is located at 11011 S.W. 104th St., Miami. Registration is free for all students and $35 for adult runners/walkers. Miami-Dade County Public Schools students who participate in the event will earn five hours of community service credits. Additionally, TSIC will be awarding laptops to the individuals who raise the most money in various competitive categories. TSIC is a statewide non-profit organization that provides scholarships, mentors and hope to help raise awareness and funds for Florida’s low-income and at-risk youths in Miami-Dade County Public Schools who wish to pursue a college education.
