M-DCPS TO HOST THE 2012 SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL
SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

WHO: 

Miami-Dade County school administrators and teachers, and approximately 1,000 students

WHAT:

2012 South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair – to showcase the explorations of elementary, middle and senior high school students throughout the county under the theme, “Moving full STEaM ahead!”  

WHEN:

Saturday, January 21, 2012
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

WHERE:

Miami Dade College-North Campus, Science Complex
11380 N.W. 27th Avenue
Miami, FL 33167

WHY:

Projects can open the doors to college scholarships and advanced academics. Students receive certificates, medals, trophies and cash prizes as rewards.

In addition to being able to view the many projects and experiments, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in interactive workshops, which will provide them with an opportunity to learn about the STEM-related careers and resources in our community.

Science fair categories include behavioral & social sciences, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, microbiology, zoology, earth & planetary science, environmental science, physics, astronomy, medicine and health.
