MORGRIDGE FAMILY FOUNDATION TO MAKE MAJOR GIFT IN SUPPORT OF SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho will accept a major gift from the Morgridge Family Foundation on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in room 904 of the School Board Administration Building, 1450 NE Second Avenue, Miami, FL 33132. The gift is being made to the Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc., in support of the school district’s e-rate program. The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc., a direct-support organization for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, aims to raise $7 million by the extended deadline of March 20, 2012 to qualify for federal matching funds for wireless improvements in schools. Every dollar donated will be multiplied by 10 for an ultimate goal of $70 million. # # # 12-JS/300 |
