M-DCPS ADMINISTRATORS HONORED BY THEIR ALMA MATERS

Two Miami-Dade County Public Schools administrators, Ms. Milagros R. Fornell, Associate Superintendent, Curriculum and Instruction, and Dr. Alexis L. Martinez, Regional Center Superintendent, South Central Regional Center, are being recognized by their college alma maters for their distinguished achievements.

Ms. Fornell was honored as an Outstanding Alumna of Florida International University (FIU). She was given the FIU Medallion during the university’s commencement ceremony held on May 1, 2012.  Dr. Martinez is scheduled to be inducted into the Miami Dade College Alumni Hall of Fame in the category of education on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Throughout their careers, Ms. Fornell and Dr. Martinez have served the District in many leadership roles, including school site and regional administrators. Both have demonstrated a strong commitment to education, earning them numerous recognitions.
