M-DCPS TO HOST THE 2013 SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL
SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

2013 South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair

WHEN:

Saturday, January 26, 2013, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

WHERE:

Miami Dade College-North Campus, Science Complex
11380 N.W. 27 Avenue

WHY:

The 2013 South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair showcases the explorations of elementary, middle and senior high school students throughout the county. Approximately 1,500 students are expected to participate in the science fair under the theme “Thinking Systematically!”  

Projects can open the doors to college scholarships and advanced academics. Students receive certificates, medals, trophies and cash prizes as rewards.

In addition to attendees being able to view the many projects and experiments, visitors will be able to participate in Interactive Workshops that will provide parents, teachers, students and other educational stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about the STEM related careers and resources in our community.

Science fair categories include behavioral & social sciences, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, microbiology, zoology, earth & planetary science, environmental science, physics, astronomy, medicine and health.
