W.J. BRYAN ELEMENTARY MUSEUMS MAGNET SCHOOL RECEIVES GRANTS W.J. Bryan Elementary School received grants from The Villagers for $8,800 and $5,000 from Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant. The funds will go towards the restoration of the historical school’s stage and auditorium, and also the creation of an exhibition space. The renovations will allow students to have performances and exhibitions in the original, grand architectural space that was designed by Robertson and Patterson Architects and completed in 1928. The Mediterranean Revival building has vaulted ceilings and open corridors that surround a beautiful courtyard. The school, which is located at 1201 N.E. 125th St., in North Miami, has been designated a historical landmark and is featured prominently during Dade Heritage Days. This renovation effort will provide students with the opportunity to witness the original design concept of a historical structure and understand the importance of preservation. This project becomes an instrument to guide future generations and encourage a sense of unity, integrity, and pride within the community. Museums Magnet Schools forge strong partnerships with local area museums and cultural institutions in Miami-Dade County.
