M-DCPS RECOGNIZED WITH CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE

MIAMI—Miami-Dade County Public Schools received from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) the prestigious Certificate of Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting Award for the fiscal year end June 30, 2012. This was the twenty-ninth consecutive year Miami-Dade County Public Schools has received this prestigious award.

ASBO recognizes each school district’s superior efforts in financial reporting to the community through outstanding Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports. COE recipients are honored for their credibility, confidence and the transparency in their fiscal management and professional growth.

For more than 100 years, ASBO International has provided services and programs that emphasize high-quality school business management practices, professional growth and effective educational resources. The organization serves more than 5,000 members around the globe. The COE program is sponsored by VALIC, a leading provider of K-12 retirement plans in the country.
