SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT ALBERTO M. CARVALHO TO RECEIVE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD, JUNE 1 The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce will honor Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho as the recipient of the Jan Pfeiffer Distinguished Service Award during the 91st Annual Dinner Gala and Silent Auction at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 1, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event will be at 1901 Convention Center Drive. This event attracts more than 1,200 of Miami Beach’s most influential business professionals to recognize outstanding members of the community. The Jan Pfeiffer Distinguished Service Award has been presented annually since 1987 to an individual or company whose extraordinary community involvement has generated extensive contributions to South Florida. Past recipients include Tracy and Alonzo Mourning, Judy Ducker and Dr. Barth Green.
