SUPERINTENDENT ALBERTO M. CARVALHO PROVIDES KEYNOTE SPEECH AT FINANCIAL LITERACY SUMMIT
Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho will provide the keynote speech at 12:40 p.m. today at a financial literacy summit held at the University of South Florida’s Marshall Center. The summit was convened by the Florida Council on Economic Education, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the University of South Florida, and the Florida Bankers Association/Bay Cities Bank.
The Florida Financial Literacy summit brings together the business, education and government sectors to learn more about the critical need for the financial literacy education of Florida's high school students, the resources available to help school districts meet the challenge, and how other states are succeeding in implementing effective personal financial education in schools.
Superintendent Carvalho has been a longtime proponent of financial literacy for high school students and has worked diligently to recruit and coordinate resources that allow students to achieve that goal.
