BACK-TO-SCHOOL MEDIA AVAILABILITIES FOR
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

On Sunday, Aug. 18, from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m., Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will be putting the finishing touches on the expansion of the iPrep Academy and Primary Learning Center. Carvalho serves as principal of these two schools, which are located at 1500 Biscayne Blvd.  Media should enter through the schoolhouse door on N.E. 15 Terrace.

On Monday, Aug. 19, the Superintendent will begin the 2013-2014 school year having breakfast with bus drivers, from 5:10 a.m.– 6 a.m., at the Northeast Transportation Center and seeing them off on their daily rounds. Northeast center is located at 5901 N.W. 27th Ave.

From 7:50 a.m.– 8:20 a.m.  Superintendent Carvalho will join The Miami HEAT in welcoming students to Flagami Elementary School, 920 S.W. 76th Ave.

From 8:55 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg will join Superintendent Carvalho to speak to the media at MAST@FIU, a magnet school on FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami Beach. Media should report to Academic One (AC1) at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami Beach, 3000 N.E. 151st St., North Miami, 33181.

And lastly, from 11:40 a.m. – 12 p.m. Carvalho will greet students to a new arts program at Zelda Glazer Middle School, 15015 S.W. 24th Street, Miami.
