SUPERINTENDENT CARVALHO INVITED TO THREE-DAY EDUCATION ACCOUNTABILITY SUMMIT WITH STATE’S TOP LEADERS
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho is one of three Florida superintendents invited by Florida Gov. Rick Scott to a summit of Florida’s education leaders to discuss the sustainability and transparency of the state's accountability system to ensure each student has the opportunity to succeed.
The Education Accountability Summit will convene from Monday, Aug. 26, 1 p.m. through Wednesday, Aug. 28, 4 p.m. at EpiCenter Collaborative Labs at St. Petersburg College, 13805 58th Street North, in Clearwater.
The goal of the summit is to provide the opportunity to openly discuss ideas and options to continue improving Florida's public school system. The governor has asked Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart to lead the summit with a focus on four strategic priorities: State Standards, State Standard Assessments, School Grades and Teacher Evaluations.
